Hinder just prevents Barbed Guardsman from attacking or using active abilities the first turn it's in play, so causing it to enter play on another player's turn would let you use it on your turn.
Retaliate's damage is based on Barbed Guardsman's attack (A), not the attacker's.
Retaliate damage is dealt at the same time as the attacker's damage.
Retaliate is considered combat damage, NOT an attack.
When Barbed Guardsman is defending, Retaliate will only trigger if Barbed Guardsman is the target of the attack, not whoever it is defending for.
