Frequently Asked Questions

Drawing a card from the triggered ability is not optional. If Adventuring Scholar dealt combat damage, you must draw a card.

The triggered ability will trigger off of ANY combat damage. This includes Retaliate if Adventuring Scholar gains the ability.

Combat damage is not considered dealt if all of Adventuring Scholar's damage was blocked by armor (→) or by defenders.

The active ability can be used at any point during an attack, before damage is dealt, to ignore the defenders.

The card draw trigger can be negated be either destroying Adventuring Scholar, removing it from the game, or by causing it to lose its abilities in response to the trigger.

If the active ability is negated in response to its activation, then you still have to pay the mana (↑) cost.
